Long time Essex Club member and former Synchroettes team member Ashley Tomich was recently awarded a USFS Memorial Fund Academic Scholarship. Congratulations Emily and Audrey!
November 2nd was a big day for two members of Essex Skating Club, Emily Kirillov and Audrey Laude. Both girls became USFS Triple Gold medalists after passing their final Gold Ice Dance tests at the Harvey School, Evarts Rink.
Emily became a Double Gold medalist at the age of 12 after passing her senior moves and senior freeskate tests in 2011. She has been coached by Julia Lautowa, Wendy Fava, Igor Lukanin, and Kay Barsdell. Emily is a member of Skyliners Junior Team USA.
Audrey passed her senior moves test in 2012 and senior freeskate test in August 2014. She has been coached by Kay Barsdell, Igor Lukanin and Debbie Davis. Audrey currently skates with the Skyliners Novice team.
The girls were elated when they found out that they had passed their respective tests! “I am so happy to have achieved this during my figure skating journey!” Audrey was very excited with her accomplishment. “I am very proud to become a Triple Gold Medalist! It means that all my hard work over the years has been recognized!” said Emily after receiving her final test results.
